On the road to the Angkor temples, the authentic Khmer products of Confirel have a new setting. Inaugurated on May 8 by Dr. Hay Ly Eang, president and founder of the company, a new showroom presents for tasting and sale all of the Confirel product ranges, designed as a celebration of the natural heritage of Cambodia in gastronomy and well-being service.
With Kampot pepper and Thnot sugar from Kampong Speu as its flagships, Confirel offers Siem Reap much more than a point of sale for premium products.
Indeed, Kirum peppers and condiments, Kirum Prahok Powder, Thnot sugars and confectionery, Kirel-Jaya and Mekong Crement wines and spirits, Kirum health infusions, offer a real journey into the flavors and perfumes that enchanted the taste buds of the ancient Khmers, whose culinary art took its source from a generous nature. This is another way to learn about the history of the Khmer empire.
After discovering the incredible and marvelous archaeological heritage bequeathed by the builder-kings, international visitors will only have to open the door of the Confirel showroom to enrich their stay in the kingdom of gourmet, sweet and savory notes of organic products from the best terroirs in the country.
“Confirel’s presence in Siem Reap is very important. Siem Reap is a major capital at the heart of angkorian culture, Dr Hay noted. Most tourists who come to Siem Reap only know Angkor Wat and are unaware of the immense cultural heritage that our elders have left us. For more than 20 years, Confirel has combined ancestral know-how and innovation to showcase the best products from Cambodia and its products are now recognized nationally and internationally. They are the fruit of our history and our culture.”
During this inauguration, the vice-governor of Siem Reap, Ing Kimleang, was delighted that Confirel, with this showroom, would enrich the tourist offer of the provincial capital. “We must not be satisfied with Angkor Wat. You have to have other tourist products to offer and those presented by Confirel are perfect as souvenirs to take home,” noted Ing Kimleang.
With its premium and eco-responsible food and well-being products available on markets around the world, Confirel contributes to the country's international influence. The Confirel showroom in Siem Reap, on the temple route, one of the world's leading tourist destinations, is another asset for Cambodia's influence.
